I know many people who use ASC just because of how well it treats the registry. I agree with you, "makes a reasonable effort, without being too aggressive, and removing stuff it shouldn't". seems to be one of the strong points of ASC. However, I have "never" had any problems in 16 years with ASC messing up registries/registry files. Every now and then, it would screw up the registry, and I would have to "revert" back to the prior restoration-point (at least it had "that" option). ![]() System Mechanic was a great product except for one "little" problem. When I first bought ASC in 2006, I bought it as a utility/cleaner replacement for iolo System Mechanic, and I was impressed with ASC.
